Fantastic News & October Goals/Spark People Challenge 1

The Fantastic News!

My search for a job is now over: I now have a full time position working at a distribution center for Dunkin Donuts. It’s only a glorious 20 minutes away and I seriously could have shat myself with happiness when I heard the great news.

I found out this past Tuesday while I was at my boyfriend’s house visiting him. I celebrated by seeing a movie and of course, eating some place special. Hurray!

Spark People Challenge 1 Progress & October Goals

I don’t know exactly what amount of weight I lose yet for this month. Our TOPS meeting was dismissed until next week due to it being Halloween (and a unanimous vote). I weigh in next Thursday on the 7th. However, due to my recent gain of employment (I’m still head-over-heels about it) I celebrated a bit too much this week. After tonight, no more over indulging and eating fried foods! Halloween is great, but I’m already sick to my stomach with the candy.

As of last week, I lost 2.5 pounds. I don’t know if I can make it to another 2.5 this week, but I can try. A loss is still a loss!

This Coming Year

Tonight (Halloween/Samhain) is my birthday. I’m now 28 years old and tomorrow is my one year anniversary at TOPS. I stated before in previous entries that even though I didn’t lose a lot of weight this past year (around  11 pounds) I gained the following:

  • Eating healthier
  • Drinking MORE water and less soda
  • Eating correct proportions
  • Finding healthy foods I like
  • A new-found appreciation for exercise

This year, I want to make a goal of losing weight PERMANENTLY instead of flip-flopping back and fourth. I know I can do it: I don’t have the overwhelming stress surrounding me regarding finding a job and my job is 20 minutes away from my house (good-bye 2 hour commute!).

Happy Halloween Everyone!

  1. Congrats on the job! Happy Birthday! Great things all around!
I lost 8 lbs my first year back at this weight loss thing. Like you, what I gained is worth so much more. My 2nd year I’m down 22 more, but hoping to increase that number in the next 2 months. I predict your 2nd year you will have a bigger loss as well!
